The White Lake Lookout Trail delivers one of the South Shuswap's best views for relatively little distance. The best viewpoint comes just 1 km up the trail, where a picnic spot looks down over White Lake and Little White Lake, out across the Tappen Valley to Mount Ida. Keep climbing and the trail tops out at a radio tower and forestry landing 2.5 km from the start.

Good to know
The trail is shared with mountain bikers, so stay alert on the narrow sections. In spring, look for chocolate lilies, glacier lilies and arnica; in summer, watch for bears near wild strawberry patches. A memorial plaque near the trail honours local mountain biker Jonathan Halper.
This is a public trail maintained by the Shuswap Trail Alliance, so there's no owner to claim this page — updates on conditions are always welcome.
