Starting right from town, the Scatchard Mountain Switchbacks climb an old hand-built road above Chase to a string of viewpoints over the village, Chase Creek Canyon and Chase Creek Road. Watch the hillsides across the canyon — Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep are regular visitors. Highlights include Odin's Lookout and "Attila's Lane," a looped section that follows the original switchbacked road.

A trail with history
A side trail named Scenc ckwimeméws — "rocky narrow path" in Secwepemctsín — was developed with Secwépemc leadership and crosses an abandoned roadbed hand-built from large rocks in the early 1900s. The trail is maintained by the Shuswap Trail Alliance.
As a public trail, there's no business owner to claim this listing — trail stewards can reach The Shuswap Loop to keep conditions up to date.
